EXPERIENCING GOD

21 September 2021 | Tuesday | 8:00PM – 10:00PM

Course Overview

Experiencing God is based on seven Scriptural realities that teach us how to develop a true relationship with the Creator. By understanding how God is working through us even as we try to fathom His ways, we can begin to clearly know Him and allow Him to transform us.

These spiritual truths reveal how God works through His people to accomplish His purposes. This best-selling discipleship course by Henry T. Blackaby and Claude V. King has helped millions of believers learn to recognize God’s activity around them, adjust their lives to Him, and be ready to join Him where He is working.
Register

The structure of the book is centered on what Blackaby calls the “Seven Realities of Experiencing God.”  They are: God is always at work around you. God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal. God invites you to become involved with Him in His work. God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible,  prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.

God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action. You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing. You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you. (p.50) The book opens with four introductory chapters about knowing God’s nature, doing His will, and being a servant.  The rest of the chapters in the book expand on these seven “realities.”

It is for believers who desire a deep and intimate encounter with God, discovering who He is and His will for our lives and learning to recognize God’s activity around us, adjusting our lives to Him, and being ready to join Him where He is working. It is recommended for believers who have already completed Growing in Christ, Cleansing Stream, Roots and Wings and MasterLife  in BC.

It is a weekly study conducted over 12 sessions. Participants use material over 5 days of the week, to read, reflect and answer questions in the workbook. Participants will meet up with their experiencing small groups ( 10 Pax each) once a week to share insights and reflections focusing on application of what has be learned.  Facilitation of each session will be rotated among each of the participant in the group.

Who should attend these discipleship courses?

Every member in BC must attend the discipleship courses Participation in the courses will be promoted by OIKOS leaders based on the course schedule which will be published yearly As these courses strengthen the knowledge component of our Christian life, it will be put into action in the OIKOS groups as members learn to serve, live out their faith and reach out to others to win them for Christ and nurture them to spiritual maturity. The learning will be further augmented by a mentoring program which will be implemented through teaching the how to and the organization of a supervisory structure to launch mentorship at all levels of the OIKOS network
